Irwin 5" Action Figures: Well, I'm not gonna beat around the bush, the current DBZ toys from Irwin aren't quite up to par. Even Funimation has admitted that they don't quite believe them to be quality products and that Irwin went behind they're backs. That's why for now, I'm not gonna take the time to write every individual figure a review. I will start writing individual reviews once Irwin starts they're new line of action figures. (The new figures look really cool and Irwin is using a new mold, as opposed to recycled molds from Japan and Europe. They will have articulation and awesome coloring. You can see lots of information on these at Dragonball Toys.com.) Until then, I will just post my thoughts on the current figures. First off, when they started being produced, I thought they were pretty ok. They were using the molds from the Japanese Bandai Super Battle Collection. I picked up Super Saiya-jin Goku, Furiza, and Piccolo. I was fairly impressed at Irwin's first attempt and thought that the quality was pretty much equal top they're Bandai counterparts. Then, they continued with more series, and everything went downhill. The ones that came soon after the first series still used the Super Battle Collection molds, but quality seemed to go down. Arms easily came off paint chipped. They seemed rushed, and cheaper than the first series. THEN, something horrible happened. I went to the store to look at some new figures, and something wasn't quite right. The first figure I saw was a Kuririn figure with hair. As I approached the figure, I saw an accessory with the figure. I took a closer look and was utterly horrified. IT WAS AN UZI!!!!!!!!!! THEY PACKED KURIRIN WITH AN UZI! A GUN! A DBZ FIGURE WITH A GUN! WHAT THE HECK WAS THIS??!?!?!?!?!? |
