Movie Reviews:

Here are some brief reviews of the 13 DBZ movies.  4 star ones are must-buys!

Movie 1: Dead Zone:

Anyone else hate Garlic Jr. as much as I do?  I guess since he wasn't an original manga character, we cannot expect much.  Oh well....this...movie...(yawn)...is kinda....boring.  Animation's fairly impressive for being the first.  The backgrounds were beautiful. The music kinda blew though, but the "Gohan eats drugged apples" scene is hilarious!  Get it just to see that.

Movie 2: World's Strongest:

This was the first DBZ flick I saw, and I was pretty impressed. It has great hand to hand fighting, and a good ending. The animation is really good for being the second DBZ movie made. The thing that was lacking was humor. Not that I'm complaining though, I'm glad they didn't overdue it like in Movie 10. Goku's the main star (surprise) but Piccolo also has a large part, which was cool. He even fights Goku at one point! I've only seen the english dubbed version, but it was uncut so I didn't miss any content. This is a good movie for one of the first, but I prefer later ones like 6 and 9.

Movie 3: Tree of Might:

Wow! Good movie! Second DBZ flick I saw and I liked it better then 2. The plot was actually good for a DBZ movie. It involves this other Saiyan who comes to earth and plants this tree that sucks the earth dry of all it's energy. The DBZ Team goes to find the problem and all of them get beat except Goku. Goku then has to fight the saiyan to the death on his own, but he gets a little help from Piccolo on the way. The fighting was great and there were lots of ki blasts thrown. This is the best movie out of the first 3, and I recommend you get this one if you're a new DBZ fan.

Movie 4: Super Saiya-jin:

I'm not going to waste my energy typing a huge review because this movie is basically crud.  Buy it if you need to finish your collection, and if you buy it, don't even bother watching it.  You'll have to watch movie 9 again just to reinstate your faith in Dragonball.

Movie 5: Battle of the Strongest:

This movie is about Cooler, who's Freeza's brother. Once he finds out that Freeza was killed by a saiyan he comes to earth to destroy Goku. Goku ends up fighting Cooler but finds that Cooler's more powerful then Freeza. Piccolo and Krillin help Goku out. And he ends up going SSJ and defeating Cooler. This movie was really good, Piccolo was cool because he did some really good fighting in it. Although at the end I was left wanting a bigger fight between Goku and Cooler. Cooler's death was way too brief. It didn't stop me from enjoying the movie though, although I felt that Goku got too much screen time (doesn't he always?).  A fun watch though.

Movie 6: 1,000,000 Power Warriors:

This is one of my favorite DBZ movies (probably because Vegita gets a lot of screen time, and he's my favorite character). It features Cooler as the bad guy, except this time he's been rebuilt as "Metal" Cooler. The Z Team goes to New Namek and end up fighting Cooler and his minions. This movie has awesome fight scenes. And the animation is TOP NOTCH. Wonderful music and a great movie!

Movie 7: "Yawn" Even More Androids (not actual name):

This movie was pretty good. Set in the Android Saga. This movie is about 3 of Dr.Gero's androids who are still alive. They proceed to hunt down Goku and try and kill him. The only problem is that Goku is a Super Saiyan and has some friends that back him up.This movie wasn't exactly great, but it wasn't bad, just boring. For some reason it didn't grab me like 6 and 9 did. It was the first movie with Trunks, and it show's how cool he is. Vegita and Piccolo are also in it and that was good. Gohan and Kuririn also have small parts, and they were mostly there for comic relief. The end of the movie was the best part, but you'll have to see it for yourself.

Movie 8: Introduction to Brolli! Too bad his character sucks in all the movies after this! (not actual name once again):

Wow, a Dragonball Z movie....and it has a plot....and the story is based on the plot.  Neato.  This is the most respectable DBZ movie.  It has a plot and sticks to it and doesn't dive right into battle scenes.  There's almost too much to say about this movie because it actually has a living, non-static plot; so even though it is not a 4-starrer, you should still buy this one.  Its also is great because its the one good movie with Brolli in it.  My only gripe is that the length of the movie makes it a little boring after a while.

Movie 9: Tournament of Warriors:

This is definitely one of best out of the 13 DBZ flicks. Gohan's the main star, he's a teen in this one. But what was so cool is that it has everyone else in it too. Vegita, Trunks, Krillin, Piccolo, even Yamcha and Tenshinhan! The movie has really good fighting. Tenshinhan and Trunks go at it! Trunks has some good fighting, so does Vegita, although they all get beat up at the end. Gohan goes SSJ2. The end is great. Everything was good about this movie. Except that I wished they would have had the tournament go on longer then it did.

Movie 10: Brolli Sucks! (not actual name):

Man......this movie could have been so good. Instead it was terrible. Gohan, Goten, and Trunks are the main stars. Brolli is the bad guy. Brolli blows, I know that people might disagree, but that is my opinion, and it's not gonna change.Gohan could have been so cool in this one, instead, he did nothing. The fighting was really bad in this one too, the movie was all comedy and hardly any action. And the end was lame too, Goku just magically appears and helps Gohan and Goten out. Good potential, bad movie.

Movie 11: Brolli Sucks Some More (not actual name):

This movie is not worthy of a real review just like Movie 4, so it won't get one. (If you don't understand, that means its very bad)....:)

Movie 12: The Rebirth of Fusion!

Really good movie. Goku and Vegita are dead and they end up teaming up to kill a demon named Janemba. The movie focuses mostly on them and not anybody else but Gohan as the great Saiyanman,Videl, Trunks and Goten are in it for short periods of time. The fights scenes in this are really good. At the end Vegita and Goku fuse into Gogeta, the highlight of the movie.

Movie 13: Dragon Fist Attack:

This is simply the best.  I'll be brief.  See it now for yourself.  Everything is done right  besides  one minor detail: Piccolo isn't in it.  Now normally this would really make me  mad, but to tell you the truth, the movie was so great I didn't even realize it until afterwards.  GO BUY IT NOW!
