Top 10:

Well, maybe the link is a little misleading.  You don't really NEED these things at all, but they're pretty cool to at least see....This is a list that shows the first, most important things for a DBZ fan...The list also will change as new products come out.

1. Dragonball Z: Captain Ginyu-Assault :  Well, they may not be the best episodes, but they're the best thing you can get now.  Commercially dubbed Dragonball Z with an amazing translation on DVD format.....what else  could you want.  Oh yeah, the English "Uncut" version is on there too, which makes for fun "compare the dialogue!" type games.

2. Dragonball Z: Majin Vegeta Saga :  THE classic rematch, 'Nuff Said.

3. Dragonball Z: Saiya-jin Saga : The beginning of DBZ and quite a beginning it is.  This saga got us out of Dragonball mode and into Dragonball Z mode.  It also introduces the famous DBZ formula: Villians arrive and fight warriors without Goku who they are basically just toying with as they are much stronger than them, Goku arrives and it looks like he can beat the villian(s), villian(s) makes an unnecessarily long comeback, Goku defeats villian (usually with the use of a Genki Dama).  This is also one of my personal favorite sagas.

4. Dragonball: Curse of the Blood Rubies : The intro to Dragonball.  Pretty interesting to see if you have only seen DBZ.

5. Dragonball Z: Movie 13: Tapion just rocks.  If you're a Zelda fan, you'll like this movie.  Tapion comes complete with his own ocarina and mystical sword.  It's just a really cool movie with great animation.  Not to mention Vegita's sweet entrance.  Oh yeah, everything happens in this one too, Goku turns Super Saiya-jin 3, Goten and Trunks fuse and turn Super Saiya-jin 3, the Z warriors battle the lower body of a giant monster (its true!), and there's even a kitchen sink somewhere in there.

6. Dragonball Z: Movie 12: Janemba!  Ok, so the villians a little odd in this one.  You still can't get past the sweet animation and the fusion between Goku and Vegita into Gogeta.  Yup, this one rocks.

7. Dragonball Z: Movie 9: This has the coolest first  30 minutes of any of the movies.  All of the Z warriors join and fight in the Budokai.  There's just cool moments, like when Tenshinhan fights Trunks, or when Piccolo leaves when he finds out Kuririn is his opponent and mentions something about hopin there would be REAL challenges there.  Very cool.

8. Dragonball Z: Trunks first appearance: There's something just very powerful about these episodes, and they introduce a great character.  A two-for-one.  Oh yeah, did I mention Furiza and King Cold also get rocked by Trunks (and in very cool ways).  Yup, these are some great episodes.

9. Dragonball Z: Movie 6: The first DBZ movie I saw, and still one of my favorites.  I just love how Goku and Vegita finally manage to get in charge of the battle with Cooler only to realize that.....well I don't wanna ruin it for you.  It's great though.  (Note: Its also good to see Movie 5 before this one).

10. Dragonball Z: Any of the Viz manga: See where it all began.  Compare some of the differences and be able to look at great stills of Toriyama art.  Viz does great translations too.

Non-DB Anime Plug: Street Fighter II V-- No, not the movie, the anime series.  The first few tapes a particularly great.  Pretty decent animation.  A must-see for any SF fans out there.
